About James

James Noseworthy, son of renowned artist George Noseworthy, carries forward his family's artistic legacy. Born into an environment where art was a language spoken fluently at home, James grew up surrounded by creativity and inspiration. Now based in Maine, James's oil paintings balance his own vision with the legacy he inherits, channeling the underlying energy and flow of nature into a style he calls Rhythmic Abstraction.

His paintings invite the viewer to not only see a place, but to feel its movement, its breath, its silence, and its pulse. "Rhythmic Abstraction" is an exploration of the balance, beauty, and harmony that define our relationship with nature.

Rhythmic Abstraction

A contemporary style that emerges from the hidden visual representation of energy and the feel of flow in the elements of nature, while incorporating realistic elements into the composition. James's paintings draw the viewer in, offering resonance and a sense of zen; each piece is a meditation on the interplay of motion, light, and emotion, echoing both personal journey and the timeless rhythms of the natural world.
